Cost Accountant I (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Finance & Accounting
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform accounting functions in tracking cost, analysis and reporting of physical inventory, inventory movement, labor activity, warranty costs, production variances and tooling; proper recording of standard monthly entries.
• Create and review standard cost for aircraft and service parts
• Review and analyze warranty cost
• Monitor general ledger inventory balances and reconcile variances
• Perform monthly closing duties: journal entries, worksheets and analysis as required
• Review completed aircraft cost and close manufacturing projects
• Review completed tooling projects and close out in system
• Perform inventory/cycle count reconciliation to general ledger
• Review and maintain coding of obsolete and excess inventories
• Review capital purchases and compare to capital expenditures budget
• Perform monthly process on projects as necessary
• Prepare asset analysis, journal entries, and supporting schedules on a monthly basis
• Assist with establishing aircraft cost projections for annual pricing and subsequent year cost standards
• Provide year-end support with physical inventory and audit
• Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree in Accounting with three to five years general ledger and cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination education and experience. Must have sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principals.
Knowledge of cost accounting principles, physical inventory, inventory movement and Windows-based computer programs is necessary to perform the duties in this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this position.

Travel is minimal. Overtime is required when necessary.
