Job Title: Production Cleaning Technician
Job DescriptionThe Production Cleaning Technician operates washing and sterilizing equipment to clean, dry, and inspect parts according to customer specifications. This role supports efficient production operations by ensuring parts and containers meet cleanliness and quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized work area on a consistent 2nd shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate controls to fill washing and sterilizing tanks with water and steam and regulate temperatures in cleaning tanks according to established procedures.
- Load baskets of parts onto conveyors that carry components through cleaning and sterilizing operations.
- Hand dry parts as required to meet specific customer cleanliness and quality specifications.
- Examine containers and parts for cleanliness and visible defects such as dents, cracks, or other damage, and report issues as needed.
- Clean and maintain washing, sterilizing, and related equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards at all times.
- Follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Work cooperatively with team members and other departments to support production goals and timelines.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including safe operation of equipment and proper handling of parts and materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and facility needs.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or GED, or up to 6 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence as needed for documentation or communication.
- Strong basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate clearly and cooperate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Capability to perform general labor, production, and cleaning tasks in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to drive and operate a forklift, following all safety procedures.
- Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
- Sufficient close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to inspect parts and operate equipment safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous experience in general production, washing, or industrial cleaning is beneficial.
- Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization principles.
- Detail-oriented approach to inspecting parts and containers for cleanliness and defects.
- Comfort working in a role that involves frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Willingness to learn standard operating procedures and adapt to changing production requirements.

Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position, working Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The role is based in a production and cleaning facility that uses washing and sterilizing tanks, conveyors, and related mechanical equipment. The noise level is usually moderate, and you will frequently work around moving mechanical parts. The position is physically active and requires regular talking, hearing, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as frequent reaching with hands and arms, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and use close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect parts and operate equipment safely. The work also involves driving and operating a forklift in accordance with safety standards. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with a strong focus on maintaining a tidy workspace aligned with 5S principles.
