Job Description

This role focuses on performing structural maintenance, modifications, and upgrades on regional jets, primarily CRJ and ERJ aircraft. You will complete C and D checks and carry out complex sheet metal repairs and fabrications in accordance with technical data and safety standards. The position is ideal for an experienced aviation structures technician who enjoys working in a collaborative hangar environment and contributing to high-quality, reliable aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural maintenance, modifications, and upgrades on a variety of regional jets, including CRJ and ERJ aircraft.
  • Conduct C and D checks on assigned aircraft in accordance with maintenance programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out structures work specifically on CRJ-200 aircraft, ensuring all tasks meet quality and safety standards.
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and other technical publications to plan and execute repairs.
  • Perform detailed damage assessments on aircraft structures to determine the scope of repair or replacement needed.
  • Coordinate and work with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to identify and evaluate structural defects.
  • Complete all stages of sheet metal repairs and fabrication, including layout, cutting, forming, drilling, fitting, and installation.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform structural work on aircraft such as CRJ 200, ERJ 135, ERJ 145, and ATR models.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members on each aircraft, ensuring efficient workflow and clear communication.
  • Support mechanical and avionics-related tasks as needed, leveraging any additional aviation expereince.
  • Participate in knowledge or practical tests during the hiring process and demonstrate strong memory and technical understanding.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area within the hangar.
  • Assist in training and supporting less experienced technicians as required.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years of aviation experience with a heavy focus on sheet metal structures.
  • FAA Airframe License Required
  • Strong ability to read and interpret the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and other technical data.
  • Proven experience performing detailed damage assessments on aircraft structures.
  • Hands-on experience completing all stages of sheet metal repair and fabrication on aircraft.
  • Familiarity with working alongside Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services for structural inspections.
  • Experience performing maintenance and structural work on CRJ 200, ERJ 135, ERJ 145, and ATR aircraft.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and systems relevant to regional jets.
  • Ability to use and maintain a personal basic tool set suitable for aircraft structural work.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and adherence to technical procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with multiple technicians per aircraft.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large hangar environment with at least 20 technicians, typically organized with 8–12 employees assigned per aircraft. The atmosphere is casual, while still focused on safety, professionalism, and high-quality work. You will use your own basic tool set to perform daily tasks on regional jets and related equipment. The schedule follows a rotating 4/10 structure, alternating between a Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. shift and a Tuesday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. shift, with plans to introduce a second shift and weekend shift in the future. Training is provided to support your success and growth in the role, and the hangar environment is designed to foster teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
