Small Parts Painter I - 2nd Shift (Full Time)

Assists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts & subassemblies following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.
Essential Job Functions: Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks:
• Prepares surfaces and uses spray gun or other methods to apply primer to small parts and assemblies on a routine or repetitive basis.
• Paint small and flat parts that will fit on spray racks such as ribs, brackets, splices and angles.
• Adjust and cleans spray guns and related equipment.
• Mixes paint according to specifications.
• Paint larger parts that need to be hung on “T” racks like ribs, frames, skins, straps, floor assemblies, channels and canted frames.
• Conduct training cross training of Team Members to attain acceptable levels of performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the team’s performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
• Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
• Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervision.
